The Eternal Convictions of a Man of Action

On the anniversary of his father's death, Martin Luther King III announced a campaign to continue his father's work.

As we explored on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. had transcended politics and struggled for a more equal world. As a result, the equality of people - rich or poor, black or white - was placed high on the agenda. He helped to change the world he was confronted with and his convictions have inspired a 21st century Man of Action.

Referring to his father's work, Martin Luther King III explained: 'What he was doing the day he was killed is often forgotten... On April 4, 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was fighting for the creation of living wage jobs. In his view, it was both a moral necessity and civil right that every working American should earn enough to live a decent life and not worry about basic survival'. 

The social reformer is emphasising the need for a fair wage for workers and proposed a minimum limit of $10 and hour. 

Its humbling to see that such altruistic actions have come out of such a tragedy and that Martin Luther King Jr's flame is still burning.
